Read the paragraphs carefully to discover the author’s main idea. The main idea is the idea that whole or complete paragraph discuses.

ª       An adult human being has thirty-two teeth. The font teeth, called incisors, cut like scissors. The pointed teeth, which look like dog teeth, are called cuspids. There are eight other teeth, called bicuspids, which have two points. The back teeth, called molars, have several points. What is the main idea of the passage, tick or underline your best answer!

The skunk is probably most famous for its method of protecting itself. If another animal tries to attack or hurt it, the skunk will realize or spray a yellowish liquid. ª       The telegraph was invented in 1937 by Samuel Morse. The telegraph is an instrument for sending messages between remote places by an electric current. To operate a telegraph, you push a special key and then release it. This action closes and opens the electric circuit. The telegraph makes use of a special code, called the Morse code. A message sent on telegraph is called a telegram. In the 1800s, the telegraph was extremely important until it was replaced by the radio and the telephone.
