Speaking Problems faced by EFL

Now we will talk about speaking problems faced by the students of foreign language. Besides having problems in bulding the confidence, the students seem to have some problems that come from outside of themselves. After watching some speaking videos taken by some researchers who want to finish their theses about students' ability in speaking English. Here are some problems faced by them.

Pronunciation is the first probelem faced by almost all of the students. The students seem not to pay attention to how to pronounce some simple words, like about, high, teeth, thing, think or because. As I know, mispronouncing can lead to misinterpretation of meaning. Even thought it is hard to speak like the real native one because we do not have the same tongue as them, but trying to be as close as "this" in pronouncing the words.

Grammatical is also the poblem faced by the students. i know many people say taht grammar is nt really important in speaking, but I do not really agree about it. Speaking  English by having well-structured grammatical, means you try to be an educative person. Besides, I almost never see any English native speaker (in videos, or listening comprehension) use wrong grammatical.

Intonation and tone, Many EFL students of mine literally use Indonesian accent in speaking English, for instance when they greet someone with good morning, they will use tone or intonation like Indonesian one, " Goood moooooriiingggggg or how are yooooooo?

Well. we'll continue this story next time, it's late night here. Bye
